 Near's we can tell, Jimmy Barnes is the only recording artist/singer/songwriter in the state of Maine (and possibly, the world) to never have won any award.  He did, however, come in second one time to a blonde who sang Karaoke.

    Sorry, we need to update…..In 2006, some folks who live in Colorado and winter in Texas, heard Jimmy’s “Country and Eastern” album and chose to spread the word. Mr. Lee Fears and his band in Colorado Springs, played Continental Divide at the Colorado Country Music Association’s annual show. Go figure, Jimmy now holds the distinction of “Colorado Country Music Association - 2006 Traditional Country Songwriter - 1st Place.” Rather disconcerting, since he’d gotten rather fond of being the only performer in Maine to not have won anything!

    Since Jimmy's music has never been recorded, stolen or performed by any big-time artists, we're left wondering why it is that we've managed to sell a ton . . . better take a listen . . .
